Ben Wilson, industrial design wizard and Pete Fowler, artist, illustrator and Monsterism creator are pleased to announce a the release of Chairfix, a self assembly low back chair .
To launch the product in 2003 , Ben Wilson asked 10 artists to hand paint the chairs for a west end exhibition. The response to Pete Fowlers chair was such that a limited edition of 50 pieces have been produced and are now available from playbeast.com.
The chairs are routed out of pre-stained 15mm MDF. Pete's artwork is engraved into the surface via a computer controlled cutting machine. The excess wood is its own packaging. Easily assembled in minutes by the end user. Chairfix was inspired by Airfix model kits and is easily assembled by the consumer using a hack saw and mallet. No glues screws or fixings are needed.
